Amazon says AWS capacity is largely sold out through 2027

See how this story connects

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said on 23 October 2026 that Amazon Web Services’ cloud capacity is largely sold out through 2027, with a good part of 2028 also committed, on demand for AI infrastructure from AI labs and companies. He said on a video podcast with Andreessen Horowitz’s Ben Horowitz and Erik Torenberg that Amazon could invest a lot more. Amazon had said it would spend about $220 billion in capital expenditure in 2026.

Why it matters

Companies that want large blocks of AWS computing for AI will find most of 2027 already committed; Amazon reports third-quarter results on 29 October.
