Privacy
What wheresthe.ai collects, why, and what it does not.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage events. Which pages are read, which links and Line of Thought stops are followed, searches typed into the site search, filters used, how far a page is scrolled and roughly how long it is read. Each event records the page, the action, the country (from our hosting provider's network, not your IP address) and whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer.
- Visit statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
- Your email address, only if you sign up for a brief or alerts, with the list you chose and the page you signed up on.
- Visits by search engines and AI systems (for example Googlebot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot), identified by their published names, and which tools AI assistants call on our MCP server.
What we do not collect
- No cookies, no advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking.
- No IP addresses, account IDs or device identifiers are stored with usage events, so events cannot be tied to a person.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we record no usage events at all.
Why
To find out which stories and connections are useful, what people search for that we do not cover yet, and where the site is hard to use, so we can make it better. Emails are used only to send what you signed up for.
Your choices
Every email we send will include an unsubscribe link. To have your email deleted, or for any privacy question, write to [email protected].
