Licence

What you can do with wheresthe.ai data, and when you need a licence.

Free for everyone

Free for non-commercial use, with credit

Our records are licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0: rules, obligations, stories, Storylines, their history, our English translations of China’s registry and our matching of FDA devices to countries. Credit: “Source: wheresthe.ai”, with a link to the record. The FDA’s own data stays in the public domain.

Commercial use needs a licence

Copying records into a company’s systems, a product you sell or work you do for clients needs a licence. So does training a commercial AI system on them or using them as its reference source. Email [email protected].

Accuracy and warranty

We check rules and obligations against the official text and show the date of each check. Records not yet checked say so. When we find an error, we fix it and log the fix in the record’s history. The law may have changed since the date we checked it. We give no warranty that the records are complete or current. The records summarise the law and are not legal advice. Rely on the official text and qualified counsel.

The laws, regulations and official documents we link to belong to their publishers. Story summaries are written by wheresthe.ai; credit for the reporting stays with the original source.
