IMDA and the AI Verify Foundation published the final Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI on 30 May 2024, after proposing it at Davos in January 2024. The voluntary framework sets out nine dimensions of practice for building and deploying generative AI. Singapore also said it would develop a Digital FOSS AI Governance Playbook for small states with Rwanda.

Why it matters

Developers and deployers of generative AI in Singapore got the government’s reference list of practices that regulators and buyers there use to judge them.
