US Labor Department issues AI principles for employers and developers

The US Department of Labor published principles on 16 May 2024 for developers and employers using AI in the workplace, following Executive Order 14110. They ask employers to build AI ethically, tell workers how it is used, give workers a voice in its design and oversight, protect labour rights, and use AI to improve jobs.

US employers and HR software vendors got voluntary federal guidance on worker notice, worker input and labour rights when they deploy AI at work.
