Pentagon publishes its Data, Analytics and AI Adoption Strategy

See how this story connects

The Department of Defense released its Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence Adoption Strategy on 2 November 2023, replacing the 2018 AI strategy and the 2020 data strategy. Written by the Chief Digital and AI Office, it sets five decision advantage outcomes, among them fast, precise and resilient kill chains, and an ‘AI hierarchy of needs’: quality data, governance, analytics and metrics, assurance and responsible AI.

Why it matters

Military services and suppliers got one Pentagon strategy for data and AI, with kill chains named as a goal, replacing two older documents.
