Microsoft’s Nadella says AI models need an emergency brake outside the model
See how this story connectsSatya Nadella wrote on X that companies should assume a model is compromised and contain it from the start. He said that means separating the model from the system that orchestrates its work, documenting every meaningful model action with tamper-proof human-readable evidence, and letting an authorised person pause or shut down a model mid-task. “Think of it like an emergency brake,” he wrote. The post sets out his own position and announces no Microsoft product change, policy commitment or timeline.
