Anthropic’s enterprise safeguards put misuse monitoring in the customer’s own cloud
See how this story connectsAnthropic announced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, developed with more than 100 customers including every US global systemically important bank and eight members of the Analysis and Resilience Center, whose members include the CISOs of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citi, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. It combines zero data retention with automated misuse detection: a rolling window of traffic is scanned for attempts to develop offensive cyber or biological capabilities and for stolen credentials, with flags sent to the customer’s own team and no Anthropic human review. Customer-owned storage and customer-managed keys are opt-in. It is supported on Claude Code, Claude Enterprise, the Claude Platform, Amazon Bedrock, Google’s Agent Platform and Microsoft Foundry, is free from Anthropic, and rolls out in phases from autumn 2026; eligible customers get zero data retention on Fable 5 and 5.1 meanwhile.
Why it matters
The largest US banks have agreed a way to run frontier models with misuse detection but without the lab seeing their traffic.
