Google DeepMind publishes Gemini 4 Argon for robotics

See how this story connects

Google DeepMind published a blog post on 13 October 2026 describing Gemini 4 Argon, a general-purpose physical reasoning model for robotics. Using pure reasoning, Argon scores 87% on the Embodied Reasoning (ERQA) benchmark, which the post says is higher than every other frontier model. The post gives example prompts in four areas: robot control, Real2Sim, physical understanding, and research and self-improvement.

Why it matters

Google says Argon can be applied across the entire robotics lifecycle; the post’s examples include Spot mobile manipulation, zero-shot arm control, and building MuJoCo simulation scenes from robot video, human video and hand-drawn sketches.
