OpenAI publishes an Australian Youth Safety Blueprint with six pillars for teen AI use
See how this story connectsOpenAI published a blueprint it calls a roadmap for protecting young people as they use AI and a contribution to Australian policy. It sets out six pillars, including AI literacy, age-appropriate safeguards, privacy-protective age assurance, connections to real-world crisis support and accessible parental controls, and says companies, not young people or their families, should build protections in from the start. It points to ChatGPT for Teens, rolled out in Australia in August as the default for users identified as aged 13 to 17, and to its parental controls and age assurance. No Australian agency or regulator is named.
