Anthropic and Accenture each expect to invest $1bn in embedded evaluation of frontier AI

See how this story connects

Anthropic and Accenture agreed to work on independent evaluation of frontier AI, led by Accenture’s AI business Faculty: evaluating and red-teaming models, alignment assessments and safeguard testing. Each expects to invest at least $1bn in capacity over five years, with Anthropic funding Accenture’s work directly. The post describes embedded evaluators as people working inside an AI company with employee-level access who can observe models during training, follow deployment decisions and report incidents, and says Anthropic keeps responsibility for model safety. The partnership is non-exclusive, Anthropic is in talks with METR and other nonprofits about piloting parts of it, and there are no standards yet for what embedded evaluators may access or how they report.

Why it matters

Outside evaluators are being written into a lab’s operations with employee-level access, funded for now by the lab itself.
