Tencent launched and open-sourced Hy3 preview, a mixture-of-experts model with 295 billion parameters, 21 billion active and a 256,000-token context, combining fast and slow thinking. Tencent said it rebuilt its pre-training and reinforcement-learning infrastructure from February 2026.

Why it matters

Tencent joined Alibaba, Zhipu and Moonshot in releasing large open-weights models from China this year.
