Saudi Arabia consults on a Global AI Hub Law letting foreign laws govern hosted data
See how this story connectsSaudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission opened a public consultation on a draft Global AI Hub Law, running from 14 April to 14 May 2025. The draft sets up three kinds of hub: private hubs for the sole use of a guest country under its laws by bilateral agreement, extended hubs where an operator hosts for itself or its subscribers under the guest country’s law, and virtual hubs run by local providers where foreign law governs the stored data.
Why it matters
