The African Union’s Executive Council endorsed the Continental Artificial Intelligence Strategy at its 45th ordinary session in Accra, Ghana, on 18-19 July 2024. It calls on member states to adopt national AI strategies, build talent, data and compute capacity, attract investment, and pass laws against AI bias and misuse, backed by a five-year implementation plan.
