SpaceXSI (xAI) released Grok Voice 3.0, a speech-to-speech model available in its API at the price of Grok Voice 2.0. It ranks first on Artificial Analysis’s Speech-to-Speech Index with 86.9, against 83.2 for OpenAI’s GPT-Live-1 and 82.6 for Google’s Gemini 3.8 Live, and responds in under a second. The company says the model handles millions of conversations a day in Tesla cars, and that Starlink call centres answer 20,000 calls a day with it, about 70% resolved with no human involved.

Why it matters

Companies running call centres can buy a voice agent that resolves most calls alone at its previous price, and xAI already uses it that way at Starlink.
