See how this story connects

NATO published a summary of its revised AI strategy on 10 July 2024, updating the 2021 version and its six principles of responsible use. The revision sets four aims, including faster adoption and interoperability and guarding against adversarial AI use, and calls for an alliance-wide testing, evaluation, verification and validation network built on DIANA test centres. It also names AI-enabled disinformation as a threat to elections, public trust and military morale.
