Google releases Gemini 3.8 Flash and a cyber model for vetted defenders

See how this story connects

Google released Gemini 3.8 Flash at $0.75 and $3.75 per million input and output tokens, its third Flash release in six weeks, and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, a vulnerability-detection and patching model available only to trusted defenders through its new Fairwind Program. Google said both share a core trained partly through long-running agentic loops that evaluate and refine the models.

Why it matters

Google opened gated cyber-defence access to a specialised model, the route it later used for Gemini 4 Argon.
