Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 for high-volume, cost-sensitive work at $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens, and said it costs around 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5. It is the first Haiku model with an adjustable effort setting. Anthropic also cut Sonnet 5.5 cache reads from $0.20 to $0.10 per million tokens and added a monthly API credit for Max and Team subscribers.

Why it matters

The Claude 5.5 family is complete, and the cache-read cut lowers the cost of long agent sessions on Sonnet 5.5 by about 20%, Anthropic says.
