New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact endorsed by 88 states and bodies, incl. US and China

StatementGovernmentIN INTL US CNReported

The India AI Impact Summit ended with a non-binding declaration endorsed by 88 countries and international organisations, including the US, China, the EU and the UK. It is built around 'People, Planet, Progress' and seven pillars, notes a voluntary Charter for the Democratic Diffusion of AI on access to foundational AI resources, and was accompanied by announced private investment pledges of over $200 billion in India.

Why it matters

Unlike the 2025 Paris statement, which the US declined to sign, it won both US and Chinese backing, but it moves the summit agenda from frontier safety to access, diffusion and development.
