Paris AI Action Summit closes with declaration the US and UK decline to sign
The AI Action Summit in Paris (10-11 February 2025) ended with a 'Statement on Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence for People and the Planet' signed by more than 60 countries together with the EU and the African Union Commission. The United States and United Kingdom did not sign; the text launched a public-interest AI platform and an energy-and-AI dialogue rather than new safety commitments.
Why it matters
It marked the summit series' shift from frontier-safety commitments toward adoption and inclusion, and exposed a US-UK split from the multilateral text.
