Iceland gives teachers nationwide access to Claude in national AI pilot

DealWorkGovernmentISConfirmed

Anthropic and Iceland's Ministry of Education and Children launched a national pilot giving hundreds of teachers across every region access to Claude, with training and support. The pilot focuses on lesson preparation, adapting materials for different learners and reducing administrative load, and includes Icelandic-language use.

Why it matters

It is an early example of a frontier lab contracting directly with a national education ministry, a model other labs and countries are copying.
